Janeen M. Samartino graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 with a B.A. in Psychology.  She then attended the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, where she received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling in 1998.  After she graduated, she attended the Beck Institute in Philadelphia to begin her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  She continued her CBT training at the University of Chicago.  She also began working as a Mental Health Clinician on the psychiatric unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. 

Ms. Samartino is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.  She is also a National Board Certified Counselor.  She has been in private practice since 2001.  Ms. Samartino’s practice consists of working with individuals, couples and families.  She primarily works with adults and also has experience with adolescents.  Some particular areas of interest to her include working with patients who suffer from anxiety and depression.  Other areas of interest include post-partum depression, abuse, trauma, marital discord, and relationship issues.
                                                                                                                  
Ms. Samartino has been working here at Northwest Women’s Consultants since 2006.  We appreciate her accessibility, her knowledge and familiarity with psychotropic medications, and her resources and connections with other mental health professionals.
